WEDDING PLANNING GUIDE
PROFESSIONAL SOUND PRODUCTIONS

For the most part, wedding planning is the responsibility of the individuals getting married.Few people can afford the services of a professional. The problem is people usually only get married once in a lifetime, so they are not familiar with various specifics of the event. This guide was written by me, from my own experiences at the weddings I have participated in. This guide is to assist me in helping you on your joyous day.

If DJ is playing the actual wedding ceremony, do you want the traditional Wedding March as the bride walks down the isle or another music selection?

After the actual ceremony, do you want the traditional Bridal Chorus or another selection?
During arrival and seating of guests, do you want soft background music? Yes No
Are you going to have a Guest Book? Yes No
Do you want it announced? Yes No
Grand Entrance: Do you want the DJ to introduce the wedding party? Yes No
Type of Meal you are providing for guests? (if any)

After the meal has been consumed and champagne has been served it is traditional for the best man to take the bridal table microphone and Make a Toast to the newlyweds. After this the Maid of Honor usually speaks.

Scheduling the Cake Cutting right after the toasting works well. Have prearranged helpers to pass out cake in a timely fashion or the bride and groom will accomplish this task. Remember the pictures. Pictures should be taken of the bride and groom with the cake.

First Dance: The first dance is always the Bride and Groom’s favorite song. What song would you like for the first dance?
Parents Dance: Do you want your parents to dance alone on the floor? If so, what song selection?
Bridal Party Dance: It is customary that the whole wedding party dances next. If so, what song selection?
You may add Father/Daughter or Mother/Son dance if you like. Yes No
Bouquet & Garter Toss: After these dances DJ usually calls for the single gals to line up for the Bouquet Toss. Upon completion the DJ calls for the single guys to line up for the garter toss. Groom carefully and discretely removes the garter from the bride and taunts the single guys into submission. Bride blushes!

Money Dance: This is popular with young married couples. It is a way to give them a few bucks for the honeymoon. Guests are invited to “cut in” and dance with the bride and groom. Guests deposit money in a hat, or pin a Federal Treasury note to the bride and groom. The hat or container works better as nobody usually has pins or first aid kits at weddings.

Anniversary Dance: All married couples are invited to dance with their spouse.

Open Dancing: At this time, as your DJ I will be taking requests from the audience using over 9000 songs contained on my computer hard drives. Please indicate the type of music you would like played. Remember all the different age groups at the party. We recommend slow Sinatra and traditional waltzes for Mom, Pop, Grandma and Grandpa, traditional rock and roll for ages 50 to 60, or classic country for two stepping. 1970’s disco or classic country is fun for ages 40 to 50, and 1980’s rock and R&B for ages 30 to 40. Finally, contemporary rock or new country works well for ages 18 to 30. We also have the Chicken Dance and the Hokey Pokey for the kids. Please indicate your preference.

50’s 60’s Rock and Roll Doo Wop Classic Country
New Country Disco Motown
Traditional (Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, etc.) Big Band Surf Music
Contemporary Rock All of the above
Payment: Please give check, cash or money order to your DJ before event.
